THE FORCE TAKEAWAY
We've been super stoked about foilsurfing for a while now. Our coaches make full use of our jet ski fleet to tow into waves on the outer sandbars here in Charleston. We started on kite foils in September of 2017 on some hurricane swell and finally got some surf foils in the spring of 2018. We've been paddling into waves on kite foilboards, too, with mixed results. Sitting in the lineup with the water at neck level is not the way to go, and we can say definitively that the Naish Comet is a game changer! With volume to spare, the Comet makes catching waves a breeze. While the Comet sacrifices a little extra length for the volume compared to the Ascend, its narrower outline gives it just a touch more paddle speed and we recommend it to intermediate to experienced surfers. We can't stress enough how important it is to have to right equipment, so if you want to get into foilsurfing, do yourself a favor and get a foilsurf specific surfboard like the Comet! You'll be glad you did!
