Slingshot's Flight School Mast Package is your fast track to the amazing world of foiling. Slingshot introduced the industries first Foiling Flight School to help people get into foiling safely and with confidence by offering three different masts lengths as a package. Start with the 15-inch mast to learn the feel of the foil without lifting up too high. Trust us; it's a lot easier and less painful to use a short mast. This way you won't go up too high and then come crashing down resulting in a potentially nasty fall at worst or just having to start over at best. The short mast lets you recover with ease as you go through the dolphining phase of learning how to foil. As you get the hang of it, you will be able to move up to the 24-inch mast and then the 30-inch mast. Advance at your own pace and utilize Slingshot's Flight School Program online to learn how to foil the fun, fast, and easy way!
Here's how it works...
Step 1: Taxi Stage/15-inch mast - Get a feel for it. Learn how to handle the board in the water, body drag, water start, ride on the surface, and begin getting up onto the foil.
Step 2: Touch and Go Stage/24-inch mast - Begin extending your foiling rides. You will begin getting longer and longer rides but you won't go so high that you crash and burn when you bring the foil up too high.
Step 3: Solo Stage/ 30-inch mast - Now that you are accomplishing longer rides, you can really start learning how to carve to windward and bear off with the wind. You will have saved yourself a great deal of frustration and you will still have the shorter masts for shallow conditions AND for extending your foiling skills to wakefoiling and foilsurfing.
