North Sonar Aluminum Foil Mast – AK & AF
The North Sonar Aluminum Mast is a strong, affordable, CNC-machined mast made from anodized aeronautical-grade aluminum. It uses North's GeoLock tapered geometry locking system for a solid, load-bearing connection to the fuselage, and works with any Sonar carbon or alloy fuselage.
This listing includes two versions of the Sonar aluminum mast:
- AK (Alloy Kite) – a slimmer mast section with an optimized stiffness-to-weight ratio, built for kitefoiling.
- AF (Alloy Foil) – a thicker-walled, wider section that's about 30% stiffer than the AK for only about 13% more weight. It handles the higher loads of wing, prone surf, SUP and kite foiling.
Important: AK and AF masts use different board adaptors and are not interchangeable. AK masts need the Sonar AK Board Adaptor, and AF masts need the Sonar AF Board Adaptor. Adaptors are sold separately.

Which Length Should I Choose?
