Skipper Meeting
MAY 2ND - 6:30PM
The Skipper's meeting will take place at the James Island Yacht Club, 734 Wampler Dr. Charleston, SC, at 6:30 pm with free food & BEER sponsored byEstuary Beans and Barley. Hosted by Shea Gibson and other race committee members. We strongly encourage participation since race course, weather, and general info will be discussed,
Gates open
MAY 3RD - 9:00AM
JIYC gates open's at 9am for all participant All Participant will be allow to used the yacht club parking lot!
FINAL REGISTRATION /CHECK-IN
MAY 3RD - 10:00 AM
Make your way to the sailing shed to pick up your racing packet. All participants will take a short ride to the sand bar on Fort Sumter by boat, where there is plenty of space to rig by the starting line. Please have your gear organized for the boat trip over to the sandbar. Booties are highly recommended. Pumps and any other remaining gear left on the sandbar will be brought back to the club.
DOWNWIND RACE
MAY 3RD - (TBD)
A 4 mile downwind drag race. The safety detail will be run by ten rescue boats, ensuring a safe and successful race for riders of all skill levels. A Medic will be on hand on and off the water.
AWARDS & BBQ
MAY 3RD- 6:00 PM
The award ceremony, raffling event will be held at the JIYC with BBQ and free beer for all race participants. All racers receive a free Fort 2 Battery riding Jersey!
