Kiteboarding & Wing Foil Instructor
Force Kite & Wake is looking for an experienced kiteboarding and wing foil instructor to join our team in the Charleston area. If you love getting people out on the water and can teach with patience and clear communication, we want to hear from you.
What you'll do:
- Lead beginner through intermediate kiteboarding and wing foiling lessons, both on land (kite control, safety systems) and on water
- Assess student skill level and tailor instruction accordingly
- Set up, launch, land, and manage kites and gear safely in a range of wind and water conditions
- Prioritize student safety at all times — reading conditions, spotting hazards, and managing risk
- Maintain and inspect lesson equipment (kites, boards, harnesses, foils, safety gear)
- Represent Force Kite & Wake professionally with customers, on the water and in the shop
What we're looking for:
- Solid personal experience kiteboarding and/or wing foiling (comfortable in a range of conditions, not just ideal ones)
- Prior experience teaching or coaching on the water — kiteboarding, wing foiling, sailing, windsurfing, or similar watercraft instruction preferred
- Strong communicator, especially with first-time riders who may be nervous or overwhelmed
- Comfortably reading wind, current, and water conditions and making safety calls
- IKO or similar instructor certification a plus, but not required if you have strong teaching experience
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player — this is a customer-facing role
- Flexible schedule to accommodate wind and tide conditions for the lesson
