Decades of Experience. Let's talk Gear!
The all-new 2027 Cabrinha Nitro Apex is a no-compromise Big Air kite for height, hang time and kite loops. It's the latest design from legendary designer Pat Goodman. Aluula laminate in the outer struts and a smaller-diameter leading edge give explosive lift, precise control and the confidence to commit when it matters most.
Why riders love it
- Aluula outer struts: Lighter and stiffer, so the kite stays stable under the highest loads and flies faster through the window.
- HT140 smaller-diameter leading edge: Lower weight, better aerodynamic efficiency and quicker steering. It cuts through the air in light wind and as conditions get more intense.
- Vert-X bridle: Run it with the Unify bar's High-Y or Low-V setup to match your riding style and conditions.
- 7-point precision bridle with a single sliding pulley: Responsive steering, pivot turns and a loose, dynamic feel.
- Bar feel you can trust: You know where the kite is, even upside down mid-loop, with predictable loop recovery.
- No speed limiter: Push your board speed without feeling like you'll top out.
- Airframe inflation system: Single-point inflation for quick setup and pack-down.
- Teijin D2 ripstop canopy and TPU bumpers: Light, high-performing and tough.
Who it's for
Big Air riders, from your first big jump to your biggest loop. Cabrinha rates it 100% for Big Air (its core strength), 90% freeride, 80% freestyle and 70% surf.
Design profile

*2025 figures are retailer data, not from Cabrinha.
- More low end: Each 2027 size starts about 1–2 knots lower than the same 2026 size, so you can get going in lighter wind. The 2025 and 2026 share the same wind ranges.
- Tuneable feel: The Vert-X bridle lets you set up High-Y or Low-V on the Unify bar. The 2026 doesn't have this option.
- Faster through the window: The smaller HT140 leading edge and stiffer Aluula outer struts help the kite move and turn quickly in loops.
- Weight: The 2027 is slightly heavier, by about 0.06–0.12 kg depending on size compared with the 2026, and about 0.11–0.26 kg compared with the 2025.
- Same proven formula: Both years share the 5-strut, high-sweep, high-aspect design profile, the Teijin D2 canopy and the Airframe inflation system.
